BIOGRAPHY
Pierre Mariaca is a Swiss composer, orchestrator, performer and music teacher, with degrees in classical piano (University of Montreal, Canada) and musical composition (California Institute of the Arts, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, USA).
His music is primarily composed for visual media (film, animation, installation, dance film), chamber and orchestral music, and dance (live dance performances, choreographic installations). It has been performed by international ensembles in the United States (Hollywood Studio Symphony, Mivos Quartet, TAK Ensemble, Ecce Ensemble) and Europe (Budapest Art Orchestra, European Recording Orchestra).
Pierre Mariaca also collaborates on interdisciplinary projects and has composed and performed music for several performances by the dance company Kinetech Arts in San Francisco (Aurum), Berklee (Detour) and Oakland David Glass Studio (Sublimation). He has also created interactive music and dance installations in the United States (CalArts WaveCave Gallery and CalArts Expo 2020).
